Efile Tax Returns, Inc. is a licensee of the TRUSTe Privacy Program. TRUSTe is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to enable individuals and organizations to establish trusting relationships based on respect for personal identity and information by promoting the use of fair information practices.  This privacy statement covers the site www.efiletaxreturns.net.  Because we want to demonstrate our commitment to our users’ privacy, we have agreed to disclose our privacy practices and have them reviewed for compliance by TRUSTe.

Your Personal Information

We do not sell your information or share it with any unrelated third party. Personal information about you is collected for purposes of preparing and filing your tax returns, and for contacting you about your return. Information requested such as your name, social security number and email address is gathered so that we may establish a unique file for you, and communicate with you about your tax return. That information must be provided in order to establish a file for you in our system.

Other personal information, such as social security numbers, birthdates and IP addresses, is required to complete and file a tax return. Such information will be shared with related third parties, such as the IRS and your bank, to the extent needed to perform the services you have authorized.

Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with an appropriate law enforcement investigation, current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site, or as required by law.

Web Browsing:

When you visit EfileTaxReturns.net and move from page to page, read pages or download content onto your computer, we use standard web server log files, to count visitors and evaluate our site's technical capacity. We learn which pages are visited, what is downloaded, the domains our visitors come from and the addresses of sites visited immediately before coming to our site. However, none of this is associated with you as an individual. It is measured only in aggregate. This information helps us to keep the pages on our site browser-friendly and useful to our visitors. We record information on site traffic but not information on individual visitors to our site.

When you establish a file in our system, you will need to give us an email address, social security number and your name, which we will use to contact you regarding your tax return. Such contact will include information regarding the status of your tax return and other service announcements. It is not possible to opt out of receiving these communications. We will not share or sell your address or other information with any unrelated third party.

If a user’s personally identifiable information changes (such as name or email), we provide a way to correct or update users’ personally identifiable information. This information can be updated on the site in the Account Maintenance section of the Dashboard page for your file on our site. Security:

This website takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information, the information is protected. While you are entering the information used to prepare your tax return, or when we ask for sensitive information, such as credit card numbers, that information is encrypted by utilizing SSL.We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with applicable law and federal standards.

Please remember that when you use a link to go from EfileTaxReturns.net to another Web site, the EfileTaxReturns.net Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy are no longer in effect.
